Believing: Our Thirty-Year Journey To End Gender Violence

About the author

Anita Hill is a renowned attorney, advocate, and educator who gained national attention in 1991 when she testified before the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee during the confirmation hearing of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas. Hill's bravery and testimony brought attention to the issue of sexual harassment in the workplace and inspired many women to come forward with their own experiences.

She is also a professor of social policy, law, and women’s studies at Brandeis University. She has received numerous awards for her work on civil rights and gender equality, including the Ford Hall Forum’s First Amendment Award and the National Women’s Hall of Fame. Hill has also served as a member of the Commission on Sexual Harassment and Advancing Equality in the Workplace.

In addition to her work on gender and racial equality, Hill has written several books, including her latest, "Believing: Our Thirty-Year Journey to End Gender Violence." In "Believing," Hill reflects on her experience testifying before the Senate Judiciary Committee and examines the ways in which we can all work to end gender violence and create a more just and equitable society.
