On Monday, November 6th, Riverchild Media presents its next literary event, LIVING OUT LOUD: A Night with Courtney B. Vance and Dr. Robin L. Smith. The topic of discussion will be Black men’s mental health, and we will be discussing their book, THE INVISIBLE ACHE: Black Men Identifying Their Pain and Reclaiming Their Power. This not-to-be-missed event will be in collaboration with the Beta Psi Sigma chapter of Phi Beta Sigma, the Black Health Matters organization, and has the support of the Westchester Department of Community Mental Health Department.

In recent months, we have seen too many incidences of Black men in crisis, often resulting in self-destructive behavior too often leading to suicide. In THE INVISIBLE ACHE, Courtney B. Vance is transparent about his mental health struggles. Dr. Smith helps dispel myths, share alarming statistics, and provide strategies and resources to address this national crisis. This event is open to everyone in the community who has suffered or knows someone who suffers from mental illness, and we strongly encourage Black men to attend and share information about this event in their networks. The purpose of this event is to provide hope for those afflicted, letting them know they are not alone and that there is help and support available. They need not suffer alone.
